My name is Laurel and I am currently working as a Walt Disney World custodial cast member at Coronado Springs Resort. My program began on January 26th and will end on May 15th and I'll be attempting to chronicle that journey here.
I recently graduated from Washington State University with a double major in (1) English Rhetoric & Professional Writing, and (2) Digital Technology & Culture. Because I graduated a semester early, I decided to apply for the Disney College Program. I had always contemplated applying for it but never had the nerve, so during my final semester I went ahead and filled out the online application. Although I was hopeful, I knew how competitive the program was and I had very low expectations of my acceptance. But then I got another email! I had made it on to the second phase of the online process, so I went ahead and filled out those questions, and not long after I had an email asking me to schedule a phone interview! I had my phone interview a few weeks later and on October 10th I got my acceptance :)
I currently live with my five wonderful roommates in our apartment here in Orlando, and I already love every single minute of it.
