Day 19: KAPA
I genuinely do not know why it's called KAPA, but this was my review day. My work bestie Kaitlyn and I walked around the whole resort with one of the trainers, reviewing the five locations we would be working in and asking all the different questions we had from training. It was pretty relaxed and nice, and we talked a lot about chemicals and other potentially dangerous things. Because it had been such an easy day, I went home and directly took a nap before my roommates Nicole and Morgan woke me up to see if I wanted to go to Magic Kingdom. Naturally I waited until they were both entirely ready before I got out of bed because I am a jerk, but then we were on our way for Wishes!
Day 20: My First Solo Day!
Valentine's Day was my first day working alone as an official cast member! I was in the convention center with a few other custodial cast members, and there wasn't really much of a convention going on, so it was a pretty low-key evening. I was working night shift with another college program girl, Daisy, so it was nice to have someone to spend the time with and ask questions and such. Other than it being my first solo day, I don't have much to report. It was a good day though!
Day 21: Morning Shift
Unfortunately after working 3:30 pm until midnight the day before, on the 15th I was scheduled to work a morning shift. At Disney you get 8 hours between shifts, so I started an hour after everyone and finished an hour later, so it was a nice, slightly slower morning for me. We had a small convention in that was just wrapping up that day, so I stayed more busy in the morning. I got to work in the convention center with a woman who had been my trainer, Yolanda. I absolutely adore Yolanda. She insists on teaching me Spanish and she gives me high-fives whenever I know a word. While we were cleaning out a registration desk I got to count to 150.
Day 22
On the 16th I was working a night shift in the convention center again. I honestly don't really remember what I did that evening because all the work days in the convention center really just run together. I'm pretty sure I was working with Kaitlyn, and I'm pretty sure it was a really slow evening, but that could all be a lie.
Anyway, those were my first few days of work, and then I was free again!
