Days 28 & 29: Margaritas and Mammals

February 22nd & 23rd

Day 28: National Margarita Day

On Day 28, Lisa and I had the day off together, but she had already made plans with her friend from home Ellora, who also happens to be doing the program. Fortunately for me, they let me crash those plans. Lisa and I started off by sleeping in a drastic amount before moseying over to the pool.

Then around 4 Ellora joined us and we left for El Patron to celebrate National Margarita Day!

Ellora's, on the right, was hibiscus, and mine was prickly pear. I do not remember the third.

I think Lisa's was actually some other kind of flower. Or maybe it was acai.

The chips and salsa were AMAZING. I am not a salsa person and I scraped the bowl clean. Also, I got an enormous burrito and I ate the whole entire thing.

After dinner we went straight to Magic Kingdom to meet up with Nicole and Laura after they got off work so we could watch Wishes! We had a lovely view right in that loop in front of the castle, so we could hear everything and get nice and teary-eyed.

Ellora is on the far left next to me, and then in front of us left to right are Nicole, Lisa, and Laura

Day 29: Animal Kingdom

The next day Nicole, Lisa, Laura and I all had the day off, and Morgan and Maddie didn't work until late afternoon. Lisa and Laura had FastPasses to meet characters, so unfortunately we didn't see them at all that day, but Maddie, Nicole, Morgan and I were off to Animal Kingdom! As soon as we walked in I spotted DiVine. When I was here ten years ago with my grandparents, I was walking along through Animal Kingdom when all of a sudden this vine lady on stilts came crawling out of the brush, and I've been waiting for the moment we'd be reunited ever since. Unfortunately she was on her way out when we saw her, so we didn't get to pose with her, but I saw her!

Right away we went to It's Tough to be a Bug, and then I'm a little fuzzy on what we did next, but it was probably Expedition Everest. Actually, I know for a fact we did Everest because it was Nicole's first time on and she didn't feel so good after, so Morgan and I let her sit for a minute like good roommates while we hopped in the single rider line to do it again. Oh! We also went on the little amusement park type dinosaur ride in DinoLand where you "travel back in time." It's a strange ride for a Disney park but I actually love it. Then we saw a pin trading board and Maddie found a classic Mickey of her work costume! It's the cutest thing I think I've ever seen and hopefully I'll be able to add a photo someday. After that Maddie had to depart for work, but almost immediately after she left my work friend Kaitlyn came to join us! Once she got there we went on the Dinosaur ride (not the kid one but the big legitimately scary one), then WALKED ON to Kilimanjaro Safaris, which let out at approximately 4:55, just in time to see the last showing of Festival of the Lion King right at 5. We had a lot of luck that day.
